Summit City is located in the hills of the Watchung Reservation with dense trees and six square miles of broken hills. Summit sits above Springfield to the east of Millburn. Just northwest, Chatham joins Summit NJ pinching the broad valley of the Passaic River.
Summit has over 21,000 residents representing a broad ethnic and economic cross-section. The schools of Summit public and private contribute greatly to the community's development. Summit NJ is a mere 8 minutes distance from Morristown via Rt. 24. The Midtown Direct in Summit makes the trip into New York relatively painless. The Summit Playhouse
The Summit Playhouse was formed around 1918 as a World War I relief organization and is one of the oldest community theaters in the United States. Summit Art Center
The Summit Art Center is an interesting place at which I've recently attended several classes and seminars. Its a non-profit Art Center with three galleries and an outdoor Art Park. Summit Art Center is the largest of the state's regional art centers offering workshops, studio classes, exhibitions and special programs. The space at the Summit Art Center is also available to Summit residents to host cocktail parties for various events if appropriate. The Summit Art Center is located at 68 Elm Street in Summit NJ.
