NJ Transist Village had a groundbreaking celebration on Wednesday. Construction actually began months ago on The Highlands project of Morristown Station. The project will cost a whopping $72 million for 217 upscale rental apartments, retail space and a five and a half floor parking garage. The parking garage is schedule to open in the spring of 2009 and will not only accommodate the building, but more than half the spaces will be designated for Morristown NJ Transit commuters. This transit-oriented village is a great partnership between public and private needs. This type of development is an excellent addition to Morristown's changing dynamics and will definitely be an excellent addition to the downtown community. We are going to see transit oriented development pop up all over the Northeast. It's an exciting time if you own land around an intermodel center.
