If you're considering a move, keep in mind that the most important thing is location. The homes along the Mid-Town Direct train line hold their value. Many residents from Summit to Morristown New Jersey and in the surrounding towns as well work in New York. Living in New York is quite expensive, so they choose to live in New Jersey convenient to the train line. Purchasing a home is an investment. Its really no different than investing in a mutual fund or stock...but its better as you get to live in it and write off the taxes. Be sure you invest solidly and that your investment will hold up with the market fluctuations in a good or bad economy. Buying a home along the Mid-Town Direct is a solid investment. Its typical for home owners to wait until after the holidays to list or relist their homes. I was looking at the statistics for Morristown and Morris Township NJ homes that have been listed since January 2, 2008 and this is what I found. Since January 2, 2008 a total of 137 homes were listed on the Garden State MLS in Morris Township and Morristown NJ. Today, February 14th, to date one home has sold, 22 are under contract and 6 are in attorney review. I'd say we're off to a good start. Susan Zanzonico -Realtor and resident of Morristown NJ. Home Buyers are Shopping in Summit NJ

I had a great open house today at 12 Lewis Avenue in Summit NJ. I was there for 3 hours and 6 couples came thru...all of which seemed to have some level of interest in the home. The home is a great location in an obviously great town. Its close to the Short Hills Mall (which I like), highways and the town. This particular home has been completely renovated..seriously, its like a brand new home. Its done well too! I had an architect come thru and he was impressed. Additionally, there is new construction on the other end of the street and it looks like that home will be stunning.....a private owner building their custom home. I would say the home on 12 Lewis in Summit is a good value at $725,000...there really isn't anything in the town that…

There are currently 173 homes on the market in Morristown New Jersey with the average list price being $482,164. The average sale price in January 2008 was $372,271with 79 days on the market...thats for 14 homes that closed as reflected on the MLS. It appears imminent that the government will be passing an economic stimulus package. Under the terms of the pending legislation, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will temporarily be allowed to purchase or insure loans up to 125% of the median home price in the area, subject to a maximum cap of about $730,000 which means that in some markets loans above the current limit of $417,000 will be considered conforming loans. FHA loan limits will increase as well, according to a similar formula and subject to a…

I picked up a flyer in King's Supermarket today and thought this was worth writing about to get out the word. This is basically what the flyer said....The Fire Deparment of Millburn-Short Hills NJ is trying to raise money for what they're calling The ACBC (Aluminum Cans for Burned Children). Its a recycling program that many can contribute to on an on-going basis and is certainly for a good cause. The money will go towards:
- Educational programs for the school kids
- Special equipment and services for young burn patients at St. Barnabas Burn Center
- Summer camp for recuperating burned children
- A mobile fire safety house which travels thorughout NJ teaching fire prevention to kids, and...
- Fire safety brochures
