Millburn NJ Construction Plans
We might be seeing some new townhomes in Millburn NJ on the site of The Chanticler at 500 Millburn Avenue. A site plan application was submitted to the Planning Board and is scheduled for review on December 3rd. The proposal is for 30 two-story townhouses on the Chanticler site with an entrance on Short Hills Avenue. They would also plan to allot a certain amount for low income housing. Pending home sales jumped up to the highest level we've seen since June 2007. This real estate data is based on contracts signed in August 2008. Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, states that he feel this improvement is the result of improved affordability and lower interest rates. In addition, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported that mortgage applications increased 2.2 percent last week due to lower home loan rates. More pending home sales and loan applications mean more closed business. Paired with the expectation of freer credit moving forward and the $7,500 buyer tax credit, this is all promising news for the real estate industry.
